Global water scarcity contributes to the lack of the most basic necessities: clean water for drinking, cooking and hygiene. Climate change is exacerbating the water shortage. Thanks to UNICEF water projects, children can go to school and infectious diseases can be prevented.
We have a wide range of water projects: UNICEF installs solar-powered, climate-resistant water pumps in very hot countries, which create access to deep water resources. After natural disasters, for example, we distribute water purification tablets, and in refugee camps we provide families with water tanks.
Above all, our focus is on establishing a sustainable water supply in the countries.
